ERL to Increase Service Frequency from 3rd January 2022

Kuala Lumpur, 27th December 2021 – Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) will increase its train services from Monday, 3rd January 2022 following a steady growth of passenger ridership since the start of Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan as more people returned to work and travelled for domestic holidays.

With the revised schedule effective 3rd January 2022, KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit will continue to be operated as a combined service from 6:00 am every day from both KL Sentral and KLIA2. The service frequency will increase from every 30 minutes to every 20 minutes during weekday peak hours while off-peak frequency will increase to every 30 minutes from the current hourly intervals. The last train departure from KLIA2 will be at 11:10 pm while the last train departure from KL Sentral will be at 10:10 pm.

7:00 am – 9:00 am

Every 20 minutes

 

9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Every 30 minutes

Every 20 minutes

From KL Sentral:

7:00 pm – 10:10 pm

Every 30 minutes

From KLIA2:

7:00 pm – 11:10 pm

From KL Sentral:

6:00 am – 10:10 pm

Every 30 minutes

From KLIA2:

6:00 am – 11:10 pm

• The journey time between KL Sentral and KLIA will be 35 minutes (KLIA2: 40 minutes).
• The train will stop at all stations.
• At KL Sentral, all departures and arrivals will be through the KLIA Transit Station.

ERL has been running an additional service at 11:10 pm since 19 December 2021 after flooding caused by torrential rains closed main access roads to the airport. Roads within the airport vicinity have since been reopened to all vehicles. The revised schedule will see the additional service at 11:10 pm continuing to be operated from KLIA2 (11:15 pm from KLIA) to KL Sentral to cater to late evening flights.

ERL continues to practise a strict regimen of cleaning, sanitising and disinfecting in order to meet and exceed the highest standards of safety and hygiene. All ERL staff including its frontline and operations staff have been fully vaccinated and some have also received a booster shot. With full vaccination and stringent daily cleaning of its trains and stations, the public can be assured of a safe and comfortable experience when taking the train services.
