Things To Do Near KL Sentral Station

 

KL Sentral Station is a major transit hub in the Klang Valley. From here, air travelers heading to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminal 1 & Terminal 2) can take the KLIA Ekspres or KLIA Transit service, while those travelling within the Klang Valley have the option of getting on the LRT Kelana Jaya Line, MRT Kajang Line, Monorail and KTM Komuter services. Passengers travelling to other states can also board the KTM Intercity and ETS services at KL Sentral.

There are many attractions nearby that you can explore on foot or take a short train ride to reach.

Perdana Botanical Gardens: Also known as Perdana Lake Gardens, this park features a beautiful lake, walking trails, bike paths, picnic tables, gardens, animal exhibits, and more. A cafe, public restrooms, bike rentals, and trolley tours are also available.

National Museum: The National Museum is a 10-15 minute walk from KL Sentral Station. The façade of the museum features elements of traditional Malay and modern features, and the artefacts give a glimpse into the history and culture of Malaysia. Located on Jalan Damansara, the museum is close to the Perdana Lake Gardens.

Little India, Brickfields: This colorful district is right next to KL Sentral and invites visitors to experience the sights and flavours of the Malaysian Indian culture. Shop for colourful Indian clothes and savour delicious delicacies offered in the many shops in the area. 

Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia: This museum is the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia and features over 7,000 artefacts from the Islamic world, spread over twelve gallery spaces. Exhibits include architecture, Qur'an and other manuscripts, art from India, China, and the Malay Peninsula, arms and armor, textiles, jewelry, coins, and more.

National Mosque (Masjid Negara): Built in 1963 to celebrate Malaysia's independence, this monumental mosque can accommodate up to 15,000 people. Its 18-pointed star dome represents the 13 states of Malaysia and five pillars of Islam.

KL Bird Park: This park offers visitors the chance to see a variety of birds up close, with lovely landscaping and beautiful plants as the backdrop. There are bird feeding sessions throughout the day, as well as a bird show. Visitors can also purchase a ticket to be photographed with birds perched on their shoulders and head, and an indoor informational area is available for learning.
