Senior Executive, Corporate Communication

Responsible for:

  1. Managing internal and external messaging to applicable stakeholders through all relevant platforms.
  2. Formulating and implementing the company’s corporate communication strategy and media relations.
  3. Managing media and corporate events.
  4. Maintaining and promoting the positive image of the company.
  1. Public Relations and Corporate Communication
    • Conceptualise and craft key messaging for media and social media related contents.
    • Responsible for all communication with the public and media including compiling, maintaining and supplying accurate material and information on the company to relevant parties, and preparing responses to enquiries and feedback from the public and media.
    • Handle corporate communication with the authorities, rail operators and other stakeholders including correspondences, presentations and attend to protocol requirements where applicable.
    • Assist with the development and implementation of the company’s social media outreach strategy to connect with the public and communities to raise brand awareness and build relationships.
    • Custodian of the company’s corporate identity, and to ensure the correct usage of the company’s marks/logos in all the company’s marketing communications, branding and promotional activities.
    • Identify opportunities for the company to improve its corporate image and lead the implementation, including but not limited to sponsorship participation, donations, corporate social responsibility programmes, corporate advertising, product placement and award competitions.
    • Assist the Head of Management with special projects including but not limited to customer surveys or market research, Go Green/Earth Hour initiatives, GARA membership, VIP/corporate visits and presentations, exhibitions, open days, familiarisation trips and filming/photo shoot requirements.
  2. Media Relations
    • Responsible for media planning and publicity strategy implementation, including but not limited to organising media interviews, press conferences and write-ups/advertorials.
    • Establish strong relationships and network through continuous engagement with the media, and ensure the media contact database is regularly updated.
    • Responsible for the preparation and distribution of media kit and media releases, media monitoring, post-event follow-ups and media coverage analysis.
  3. Event Handling
    • Handle media and corporate events including but not limited to preparation of programme, media and guest invitations/RSVPs, media release, speeches and talking points, door gifts, protocol/VIP handling, emceeing where applicable, set up and manage/moderate press conferences, liaise with relevant parties and monitor expenses.
  4. Reputation Management and Crisis Communication Handling
    • Monitor the media/social media for relevant news on the company and industry.
    • Monitor digital conversations and interactions on the company’s social media platforms to evaluate the company’s brand perception and customer feedback, report, analyse and gain insights, and recommend/act on opportunities or potential risks/threats.
    • Responsible for the company’s crisis communication handling including but not limited to crafting messages for external and internal communication, undertaking annual review of the guideline/SOP documentation, participating in the company’s annual ERP exercise, conducting refresher courses, preparing the spokesperson through mock exercises and monitoring the media/social media.
  5. Marketing Communications
    • Assist the Head of Management with awareness strategy and communication message to increase awareness of products and services on all channels including but not limited to campaign planning, creative message, copywriting and proofreading of materials for social media, website, advertisements and POS materials.
    • Assist the Head of Management with planning and implementation of media buy, media space barter deals, POS/communication materials, events and exhibitions.
  6. Reporting & Planning
    • Compile and provide regular reports/updates to the Head of Management, derive valid conclusions from the analysis and make recommendations to the management where required.
    • To assist the Head of Management with annual business/marketing plan and expenditure budget, and monitor budget spending.
  7. Marketing Communications - General
    • Maintain the company profile/brochure/folder/image stock and recommend content update.
    • Manage corporate and festive giveaway requirements and inventory.
    • Compile news clippings for archive and make available to Management.
    • Maintain a consistent set of marketing practices and policies.
    • Assist the company in any other tasks and responsibilities deemed appropriate, as and when required.

Job Requirements

  • Possess a Diploma or Degree in Public Relations/Communication/Marketing/ Journalism/English or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related working experience in public/media relations. Work experience gained in the marketing or journalism field would be beneficial.
  • Strong media contacts.
  • Well-versed in social media.
  • Creative, passionate and curious about all aspects of communication and know how to tell a compelling story.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven and detail-oriented.
  • Concise and clear communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.


General Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and time management.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and also work in a team.
  • Sound analytical skill, creative and innovative.
  • Able to handle Microsoft Office applications as well as familiar working in an IT oriented environment.
  • Possess valid driving license.

A portfolio of past written work such as speeches and press releases would be useful.

Note : This is a 2 years contract employment. Consideration for renewal or permanent will be based on performance.
