Q: Why are we going cashless? Is it necessary?

A: We are going cashless to offer a more convenient and efficient travel experience, enabling passengers to securely purchase and use e-tickets without the need for cash. We support various cashless payment methods for passengers to purchase our tickets.

Q: How do passengers benefit by going cashless?

A: Cashless systems simplify transactions by eliminating the need for cash, offering more convenience and better tracking of your transactions. Additionally, if you purchase KLIA Ekspres or KLIA Transit tickets via website or mobile app, you will enjoy a 10% discount off the normal fare and earn EkspreSmiles points for future discounts.

Q: When will the cashless system be implemented?

A: It will be fully implemented on 15 August 2024.

Q: What payment methods are accepted?

A: We accept the following:

  • Major credit and debit cards
  • E-Wallets (e.g., Touch 'n Go e-wallet, GrabPay, Maybank QR Pay, Boost, Alipay, Setel, UnionPay, WeChat Pay)
  • Mobile payments (e.g., Samsung Pay, Apple Pay)
  • MyKad and Touch ‘n Go

You may also purchase your tickets through the KLIA Ekspres mobile app, website, and at self-service kiosks (SSKs).

Q: How do I purchase a ticket using the cashless system?

A: You can purchase tickets through the KLIA Ekspres mobile app, website and at self-service kiosks (SSKs).

Q: Can I still purchase tickets with cash?

A: We only accept cashless payment.  

 Q: Can I buy the ticket at the counter using bank card or e-wallet?

A: Ticket counter is ONLY for:

  • Activation and redemption of tickets:
    • Monthly/Weekly TravelCard
    • Concession fares
    • Child tickets
    • KL TravelPass
  • Other ticketing matters

Q: I’m a senior citizen/person with disability and I don’t have a mobile device or credit/debit card. Can I still purchase a train ticket?

A: Please refer to our staff at the station.  

Q: I am eligible for the Concession fare (Senior Citizen, OKU, Airport Staff, Airline Crew and Tour Guide). However, the amount in MyKad is not enough and I only have cash at hand. Can I top-up with cash at the counter?

A: There is no top-up facility at the counter but there are Touch ’n Go self-service kiosk available at all our stations. Please ensure you have enough balance in your card before you travel.

Q: Can I activate and renew my Monthly/Weekly TravelCard at the ticket counter?

A: Yes, but we only accept cashless payment.

Q: Are contactless payments secure?

A: Yes, you can be assured that our contactless payments are safe and secure.
